CIC Wilson Charged with Violating SCV Constitution On October 6, 2003 a document charging Sons of Confederate Veterans Commander-in-Chief Ron Wilson with several counts of violating the SCV Constitution was sent to SCV Headquarters, CIC Ron Wilson, and to SCV Judge Advocate-in-Chief R. B. McCoy. An e-mail version of the document (see below) was also sent to members of the General Executive Council. A PETITION TO THE GENERAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL, SONS OF CONFEDERATE VETERANS AND AN INDICTMENT OF RONNIE GENE WILSON, COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF OF THE SONS OF CONFEDERATE VETERANS. I, Perry James Outlaw, a member in good standing of Admiral Raphael Semmes Camp # 11, Mobile, Alabama, Sons of Confederate Veterans, acting on behalf of the following suspended camps and suspended and/or relieved officers of the Sons of Confederate Veterans: Southern Piedmont Brigade Commander, NCSCV Northern Piedmont Brigade Commander, NCSCV Commander, officers and members of the Sgt. Aaron L. DeArmond Camp #1981, Matthews, NC Commander, officers and members of the Stokes County Troops CSA Camp #1540, Germanton, NC Commander, officers and members of Capt. M. W. Norfleet Camp #1249, Winston-Salem, NC Commander, officers and members of Col. John Randolph Lane Camp #1570, Siler City, NC and those commanders, officers and members of the following camps, who remain suspended: Thomasville Rifles Camp #172, Thomasville, NC Col. John Sloan Camp #1290, Greensboro, NC Davidson Guards Camp #1851, Lexington, NC, do present the following Indictment and Charges against Ronnie Gene Wilson, TO WIT: RONNIE GENE WILSON , Commander-in-Chief of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, is hereby charged with formally, knowingly, willfully and repeatedly violating the Constitution of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and specifically with the failure and neglect to perform the duties enjoined by the Constitution of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, and with violating the requirements of the Preamble to the Constitution of the Sons of Confederate Veterans as enumerated by the following charges:CHARGE 1 - The said Ronnie Gene Wilson is charged with failure to discharge his duties under Article 14, sec. 5, by suspending several officers, members and camps of the North Carolina Division. This article of the SCV Constitution calls for "proper proof" which CIC Wilson failed to provide to any of the aforementioned suspended parties. CHARGE 2 - The said Ronnie Gene Wilson is charged with failure to discharge his duties under Article 14, sec. 5, by which article Wilson suspended several officers, members and camps of the North Carolina Division. This Article of the SCV Constitution states in referring to suspensions by the CIC "...said action to be reported to the next General Convention for permanent sentence." This duty he failed to discharge at the most recent General Convention held in Asheville, North Carolina. CHARGE 3 - The said Ronnie Gene Wilson is charged with failure to discharge his duties under Article 14, sec. 7, which states "The Commander-in-Chief is charged with the duty of working with the Camp or member to remove the factors that necessitated the suspension." CIC Wilson has failed to respond to communications from suspended members and camps dating back to February 2003. CHARGE 4 - The said Ronnie Gene Wilson is charged with violating the requirements of the Preamble to the Constitution of the Sons of Confederate Veterans by appointing and/or allowing to remain in appointive office or offices several members of a neo-secessionist organization, to wit: The League of the South. This action, actions, or lack thereof being in violation of the Preamble to the Constitution of the Sons of Confederate Veterans which requires the Sons of Confederate Veterans to be an organization that exists, "In the name of a reunited country..." and an organization with, "An unquestioned allegiance to the Constitution of the United States of America..." THEREFORE it is my petition that Ronnie Gene Wilson be immediately removed from office and expelled from the Sons of Confederate Veterans and forbidden henceforth from ever again being a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, and that the General Executive Council of the Sons of Confederate Veterans immediately take action to execute this petition.
